News from the Middle School

Week of Dec. 4

Dear All,

We are happy to report that the Science Fair was a smashing success. Many thanks to Carol Hamilton, Mary Hutchins, Brian Grigg, James Allison, Carmen Cooper, Megan Tolbert, Mike Cerino, a host of patient, interested, knowledgeable, and kind judges, and our students and parents for making this happen. It was a lot of fun and we learned so much.

The week has been a good one and it has been fun to have everyone back on the halls decorating doors and spreading a bit of door-decorating angst or holiday cheer. (We'll show some finished doors soon!)

We also worked together to re-imagine a corn hole set generously donated by Will and family! (Don't worry...we didn't ask him to donate AND prime the set himself. We helped!)

The 6th and 7th grades used their recently acquired Frankie Zombie skills and made this happen. We all painted our initials and even Mr. Skeen took a turn.

We are excited to cheer for our Griffins today in the Milliken gym and looking forward to basketball season in general.

I sent an exam schedule email on Monday for your reference. If you did not receive this, please let me know and I will resend.

Buckle up for the week ahead. It's a tad full.

Monday(E day): Spirit Dress Down Day: Wear your Griffinwear and stay and join us for our middle school home games. We will have a study hall and take students to these games. Remember to send a few dollars for concessions and pick them up in the Milliken gym by 6pm).

Tuesday(A day): The 7th-grade play is that evening from 6-7pm in the Dent Gallery. There is a flyer in your child's backpack with all the details. We are looking forward to seeing them on stage!

Wednesday(E day): Take a breath.

Thursday(A day): Band and Chorus Winter Concert: 6:30-8:30 pm in the Stone Gym. (An email was sent home on Wednesday with all of the specifics. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or email).

Friday (E day): Holiday Dress Down Day--wear your favorite holiday attire and dress down, too.

Students will begin reviewing for exams next week and then head into exam week and then on to Winter Break. Here's to the weekend!
