Seeing the sunshine over the last couple of days has been good! The weekend weather promises to be equally enjoyable, and I hope you all can take advantage of the mild temperatures. 

Pictured above - US students participated in the inaugural Griffin Hunt to celebrate the 100th day of school. Students in all divisions were challenged to find 100 red Griffins hidden around campus. Students of all ages participated in the fun, and we hope this will be a new SDS tradition! Big thanks to Erin O'Neal and Jillian Sorrenti for spearheading the activity.

Upper School teachers continue to offer students fun, relevant learning opportunities. Highlighted below are French students making crêpes to celebrate La Chandeleur. Students learned about the tradition, prepared the batter, and made their own crêpes.  They also flipped a crêpe while holding a coin in their opposite hand.  According to the tradition, catching the crêpe ensures financial prosperity in the coming year.  Judging by SDS’s results, many students will be getting a raise in their allowance soon! I've enjoyed the food from the French classes lately!

On Wednesday, the Parent's Community will host their second (and last) All Parent Meeting for this school year at 8:30 AM in the Dent Gallery. Please join us if you can.

Please remind your students to do their best to make it to school and classes on time. We have seen an uptick in lateness recently.

Progress reports for students earning a 76 or below in any course have been entered into FACTS and are ready for review. Please reach out to classroom teachers with questions or concerns. 

Finally, I hope everyone had a chance to read the environmental sensor (vape detector) communication sent earlier this week. In short, sensors have been installed on campus. Please see the email sent on Tuesday for more information.
