Pictured above, last night's band and choral concert were delightful! Students performed to a packed house and demonstrated impressive skills. Seeing the collaboration among Middle and Upper School musicians was especially nice! We are thankful for the guidance of Ms. O'Neil and Mr. Barnes, who are masters of their craft.

This morning's assembly was fun and a bit sad. We played festive games to close the semester and took a group picture with visiting student Daniel Acevedo. Daniel has studied with us this semester and will return to his home country of Columbia, South America, after exams. Daniel, we will miss you and wish you the best in your travels home. Please keep in touch and come back to see us soon!

Mrs. Greer's Chemistry classes participated in an ice cream lab demonstrating freezing point depression and colligative properties.

We've made it to exam week! Below are a few reminders.

Exams count for 20% of the semester grade (Q1 - 40%, Q2, 40%, Exam 20%).

Schedule:

Exam Expectations

  • Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before their exam (8:45 or 12:45).
  • Exams are scheduled for two hours, but students may take up to three hours to complete their assessment. Students will not be released from an exam room earlier than 11:00 (morning exam) or 3:00 (afternoon exam).
  • Students with two exams on the same day are not permitted to leave campus between exams. Lunch is available in the Dining Commons.
  • Students studying on campus should do so in Presnell or the library.
  • The proctor will collect phones and smartwatches. Book bags should be left in a locker or outside the exam room. Students may bring a book to read if they finish early. They may not have study materials with them during an exam.
  • Food is not permitted in exam rooms without a medical need. Water is allowed.
  • Relaxed dress is acceptable during exam week. Pajamas are not allowed.

The Humane Society will bring Exam Puppies and other furbabies to campus during exam break time on Tuesday. They will be housed in the Dent gallery and hot chocolate will be available. Remember that Interact is collecting donations as a thank-you for their kindness in offering this opportunity to destress during exam week.

I'll close with pictures of the advisory gingerbread houses. Mrs. Sorrenti will send a Google voting form to students and teachers this afternoon. Who do you think should win?

If you need a stocking stuffer idea...a new computer charger might be a nice idea. A large number of students ask Mrs. Aiken to borrow chargers daily. While we are happy to allow students to use what we have, supplies are limited.

Wishing everyone a productive weekend. Hit the books, kids!
