The Beginning of the End (A Poem)
By Charlotte Roark

The cold and lonely winter spent indoors and away from friends,
Interrupted by rays of sun peeking through the clouds,
Letting you know that spring is on its way,
Spring is associated with buds blossoming into beautiful flowers,
Or seeing it pour rain down on the world and jumping in puddles,
But for most students it is associated with the end of the school year,
The hectic ending of things you've been doing all year,
Saying goodbye to friends you've met this year,
Letting summer come and take everyone away,
Accepting that things are not the same when you come back in the fall,
So you have to make the most of it now,
Before the people you've met are just memories ,
Taking up space in your mind,
So you take a chance,
And let it take you where it goes.
